TCLP / RCRA 8 Testing
Hazardous or Not.
Know Before You Dispose.
Three panels. Waste characterization you can put on a manifest. Determines whether demolition debris, soil, and industrial waste requires a licensed hazardous facility.
What Is TCLP / RCRA 8?
The test that determines if your waste goes to a subtitle D landfill — or a hazardous facility.
TCLP = Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure. EPA Method 1311.
Simulates how contaminants leach from solid waste into groundwater in a landfill environment.
RCRA 8 = the eight metals regulated under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act.
If leachate exceeds regulatory limits, the waste is classified as hazardous (D004–D011) and requires a licensed hazardous waste facility.
Required before disposing of demolition debris, soil, industrial waste, and other solids — anywhere RCRA applies.
Three Panels. One Decision.
Analyzed through accredited partner laboratories.

Which Panel Covers Your Job?
Match your site type to the right analysis — before you pull the sample.
TCLP/RCRA 8 is not the same as lead-in-soil or asbestos-in-soil testing. Those tests assess exposure risk and fiber presence — not disposal classification under RCRA. See our Lead in Soil and Asbestos Waste Solids pages.
Sample Integrity Starts in the Field.
TCLP sample integrity starts in the field — these errors invalidate results. IRIS provides everything you need in the kit.
IRIS provides pre-cleaned glass jars, COC forms, and pre-paid shipping labels with every kit.
