What drives drinking-water testing, the Safe Drinking Water Act, the Lead & Copper Rule, school and childcare tap mandates, and bacteriological screening. We run the analysis under NJ NELAP accreditation.
Metals, lead, E. coli & Legionella
IRIS currently tests for E. coli, Legionella, and metals (including lead) in water. Lead-in-water follows the Safe Drinking Water Act, a different regulatory program from lead paint.
Lead & Copper Rule (LCR / LCRR)
EPA action level for lead is 15 µg/L. The Lead & Copper Rule Revisions mandate tap testing at schools and childcare facilities. We report first-draw and flushed samples by EPA 200.5 / 200.8.
Schools & childcare (NJ)
NJ requires lead testing of drinking water at all outlets in public schools under N.J.A.C. 6A:26-12. We format results for the program you're filing under.
E. coli & total coliform
Quick-turnaround bacteriological screening for residential wells, commercial buildings, and routine potability checks.
Legionella (cooling towers)
ASHRAE 188 sampling for building water systems and cooling towers, a water pathogen, tested under the water program, not mold or IAQ.
