Mold-is-a-fungus

Got Mold?

Got Mold? Mold exists naturally everywhere, indoors and outdoors. There is no such thing as mold-free environment. Remediation is all about putting the mold level back to normal.

Mold is a fungus that needs water to grow. If you have mold, that means there is a water incursion in either wall interiors, basements, kitchens, bathrooms, crawl spaces, attics. Mold travels through the air as tiny spores which immediately spread to other areas and may cause allergic reactions and diseases. To remediate a mold problem, you will need to find the source of moisture. Only after that the mold can be treated and removed.

If these simple steps are not done properly the mold will come back and the problem will remain.

That is why it’s so important to focus on inspections and testing to find the accurate solution and avoid spending more of your time and money.

One important fact is to consider hiring a different company to perform your mold inspection and your mold remediation. The reason is simple. There are conflicts of interests on the results of an inspection to find out what the problem is and what is really necessary to be remediated.

Mold can also be a problem during Real Estate transactions

When mold is found during a pre-sale home inspection, it holds back the entire pre-selling or selling process. Often, deals are put down or placed aside, resulting in frustration and constant stress. The good news is that the presence of mold, in most cases, are easy to fix. After all, mold presence shouldn’t have to give you a hard time to succeed in your transaction.

MOLD INSPECTION

If a mold inspection and mold testing is necessary, there are four steps to be taken.

Step 1: Our certified professionals will conduct the property mold assessment:

Mold inspections involve a trained and Certified Professional inspecting for water or moisture intrusion and mold growth. This process usually takes 1 hour to perform. The technician will also perform an Air Quality and/or direct sample test to help identify the magnitude of the problem.

Step 2: The samples are submitted to the Laboratory

The samples will be analyzed by a certified laboratory facility under Environmental Standard criteria. After the testing we will provide the results within an easy-to-read report.

Step 3: Remediating the problem.

The results will give you certainty about the levels of mold and the focus of the water intrusion. With the results in hand and if elevated mold is found it is time to find a remediation service company.

Step 4: Post Remediation Testing (Clearance Air Testing)

After the remediation a third party company must perform what is commonly called Clearance Air Test to ensure the mold level is back to normal.
